Tietto Minerals defines 65-kilometre gold corridor at Abujar project in Cote d’Ivoire

The corridor has been confirmed with both drilling and soil sampling programs.

Tietto Minerals Ltd (ASX:TIE) has confirmed gold-in-soil anomalism over a 65 kilometre corridor at its Abujar Gold Project in the central west of Cote d’Ivoire.

The corridor was further defined through a soil sampling program recently completed at the Abujar North prospect, one of three tenements that comprise the project.

This program identified high-grade gold-in-soil anomalism, with 16 samples reporting higher than 1 g/t gold and 40 samples over 0.5 g/t.

Mineral province scale

Tietto managing director Caigen Wang said the results demonstrated the project has mineral province scale.

He said: “The high grades seen in the gold-in-soil results are a solid vindication of the company’s exploration model.

“We will systematically explore this prospective corridor to deliver a series of drill-ready targets.”

Three prospects potentially linked

Soil samples were collected at a 400 by 50 metre spacing over a 4-kilometre-wide structural corridor.

Assay results reveal that the gold mineralisation corridor previously defined by four drilling campaigns at the Abujar Middle tenement extends 25 kilometres from the southern boundary of the tenements towards its northern boundary.

Tietto plans to carry out further geochemical work, induced polarisation and aeromagnetics surveys in the coming dry season to define drilling targets.

Adding higher-grade oxide to inventory

Wang said: “[We] remain focused on building our resource base with an upgrade planned for the end of the year.

“We have two drill rigs double shifting, one AMS RC drill rig and our own diamond drill rig.

“We are drilling for depth extensions at Gludehi and looking to add higher-grade near-surface oxide and shallow depth fresh mineralisation to our inventory from current drilling at Pischon and Golikro.

Continuous mineralisation along Abujar corridor

Drilling campaigns previously completed on the Abujar Middle tenement have demonstrated continuous gold mineralisation along strike of the gold-in-soil anomalous corridor.

Tietto defined a JORC inferred mineral resource of 10.4 million tonnes at 2.1 g/t gold for 703,600 ounces at Abujar Middle, partially under gold-in-soil geochemical anomalies and partially under old artisanal workings.

An intersection of 4 metres at 5.53 g/t gold was also drilled at the northern end of the middle tenement.
