Gold junior Cabral Gold Inc (CVE:CBR) is making progress on its bid to gain a full mining licence for its key Cuiú Cuiú property in Brazil.

It has registered for a licence via what's called an economic development plan (PAE), according to guidelines set out by the Brazilian government mining department.

Cabral has been busy working on permitting in recent years.

A request for terms of reference for an Environmental Impact study on two tenements was submitted to the State Environmental Agency (SEMAS) and was approved and published in April this year, followed by the mobilization of field teams to site.

"The registration of the revised PAE application is an important milestone in the permitting process for the Cuiú Cuiú project and together with the ongoing EIA-RIMA study, has comprised a significant part of the 2018 work program," Alan Carter, president and chief executive at Cabral, told investors.

"I would like to personally congratulate our team in Brazil which is led by Ruari McKnight, on excellent progress with respect to the permitting process".

At the tail end of last month, the firm revealed it had identified a strong gold anomaly at the project, which represents a priority target to test for extensions to the central deposit.

The drilling showed a broad gold anomaly well outside the current resource of the central deposit at the Cuiu Cuiu mine and extends 250 meters in a north-south direction, a company statement said.
