The company aims to further understand the potential mineralisation within its outlying regional holdings.

MOD Resources Ltd’s (ASX:MOD) environmental management plan for drilling at its T20 Dome Complex has been approved by the Botswanan Department of Environmental Affairs.

The management plan covers a 700 square kilometre area in the northern section of T20, which is 80 kilometres west of MOD’s T3 mine development project, and the proposed drilling will target the T4 copper prospect and the T23 Dome.

T20 forms part of the company’s extensive regional holdings in the central Kalahari Copper Belt, with MOD holding 70% ownership in a joint venture with Metal Tiger plc (AIM:MTR).

MOD managing director Julian Hanna said: “T4, within the T20 Dome Complex, was the subject of much excitement back in 2016 when we intersected significant copper and silver mineralisation in initial drilling.

“T4 was eclipsed by the discovery of T3 in March 2016 and no drilling has been carried out since.

“As with the recent A4 Dome discovery, we are utilising electromagnetic (EM) modelling to gain an understanding of the potential of the area around T4 and T23, which has highlighted some very interesting features.”

Copper mineralisation was intersected during shallow RC drilling at T4 prior to the discovery of T3, including an intersection of 2 metres at 6% copper and 111 g/t silver from 101 metres.

Soil sampling and airborne EM survey data from T4 has defined a distinct conductive structure that may be associated with a 5-6 kilometre-long copper soil anomaly at T4.

The EM structure appears to extend through the interpreted T23 Dome, 15 kilometres to the west of T4.

Drilling at T20 is part of MOD’s strategy to demonstrate the regional potential of the corridor, which hosts T3 and the recent A4 Dome discovery.

The company has 6 rigs operating at the A4 Dome with assay results pending.

T20’s airborne EM survey is also extending over the T17 and T7 target areas, north and south of T20 respectively.
