Sirius Minerals PLC (LON:SXX) told investors that it has now signed two major construction contracts for the company’s mine development programme in Yorkshire.
At the same time, Sirius has also revised its capital requirement estimates for the project, adding US$400mln to US$600mln which takes the total requirement (including contingency) to US$4.16bn.
Pan African Resources plc (LON:PAF) announced that Barberton Mines Proprietary Limited has successfully concluded a three-year wage agreement with the National Union of Mineworker and the United Association of South Africa.
The AIM-listed firm said the agreement provides for an average annual wage increase of approximately 6.5% and 5.5% for NUM and UASA members, respectively, over the three years.
BHP Billiton plc (LON:BLT) said on Wednesday it has agreed a US$35.2mln deal that will give it exposure to a “high quality” copper exploration project in a “highly prospective” location for the company.
The mining giant will buy a 6.1% stake in SolGold plc (LON:SOLG) from Guyana Goldfields Inc (GUY.TO), giving it a share in the Cascabel copper-gold project in Ecuador.
BHP will pay 26.592p per SolGold share, a 20% premium to the 20-day volume-weighted average price on Thursday.
Kodal Minerals PLC (LON:KOD) has published a first mineral resource for its Bougouni lithium project in Southern Mali.
Based on the three most advanced prospects, Bougouni has an inferred 17.3mln tonnes (Mt) at a grade of 1.2% lithium. A resource of that size places the project among the top 15 hard rock lithium deposits worldwide. The majority of the resource so far is located at the Sogola-Baoule site.
Shares in Greatland Gold plc (LON:GGP) surgedon Tuesday after the exploration and development company released new rock chip results from its Black Hills licence in Australia.
Greatland collected 28 rock chip samples over the Saddle Reefs prospect at Black Hills and several rock chip samples from the Rogers prospect, none of which contained any visible gold.
Regency Mines Plc’s (LON:RGM) 47%-owned associate Mining Equity Trust (MET) has forecast revenues of US$30.5mln for the ten months to June next year.
MET has just resumed metallurgical coal production at Cedar Bluff in the Central Appalachian region in Virginia.
Production in September is expected to amount to 59,250 tons, generating revenues of US$2.7mln, based on output levels achieved towards the end of August.
European Metals Holdings Limited (LON:EMH) has commenced work on an update of the preliminary feasibility study for the Cinovec lithium and tin project in the Czech Republic.
This study will model the production of higher value lithium hydroxide, the use of which is increasing in lithium-ion batteries. The study will take two months to complete.
Shefa Yamim (ATM) Ltd (LON:SEFA) signed a letter of intent with renowned Israeli jewellery designer Yossi Harari.
Harari, whose necklaces and earrings have been worn by the likes of Jane Fonda and Oprah Winfrey, will use gemstones found in Shefa’s Kishon Mid-Reach deposit in Northern Israel.
Initially, the designer will create 18 handcrafted pieces of jewellery using selected gemstones, which he is expected to lay within his trademark 24-carat gold settings. The pieces will reflect Israel’s “special heritage”.
Shanta Gold LTD (LON:SHG) commenced underground decline work at Ilunga, part of the ongoing development at the producing New Luika project, three months ahead of schedule. First ore is expected in mid-2019.
