Croma Security Solutions expects record profits as demand rises after terrorist attacks

Croma expects annual earnings to rise to at least £2.4mln from £0.8mln a year ago

Croma Security Solutions Group PLC (LON:CSSG) shares jumped after saying it expects to report record profits for the year, supported by strong demand for its security services following a spate of terrorist attacks in the UK.

In a full year trading update, the security firm said it secured a series of new contracts in its Croma Vigilant and Croma Systems divisions amid heighten terrorism threats and concerns about public safety.

Croma Vigilant supplies security personnel and Croma Systems provides security technology such as CCTV, alarms, biometrics and locks.

Croma expects earnings (EBITDA) of at least £2.4mln for the year to 30 June 2018, up from £0.8mln a year ago.

“While the group has benefited from a significant proportion of one off contracts there has also been a rise in long-term contracted revenues which points to a step change in the ongoing profitability of the business,” said chief executive Sebastian Morley.

Shares rose 8.3% to 105.6p in morning trading.
