Peel Mining’s drilling continues to expand Wagga Tank-Southern Nights mineralised system

The Wagga Tank/Southern Nights project is emerging as one of the most significant new zinc polymetallic discoveries in Australia.

Peel Mining Ltd (ASX:PEX) has received further high-grade drilling results from its Wagga Tank/Southern Nights project, south of Cobar in western New South Wales.

Recent assay results continue to expand the Wagga Tank-Southern Nights mineralised system with better assays including:

• Corridor Zone: 24 metres at 3.93% zinc, 1.71% lead, 99 g/t silver, 0.26 g/t gold from 203 metres;

• Southern Nights Central Zone: 4 metres at 6.47% zinc, 2.80% lead, 39 g/t silver from 255 metres;

• Southern Nights Central Zone: 8 metres at 2.81% zinc, 1.08% lead, 128 g/t silver from 217 metres;

• Southern Nights South Zone: 16 metres at 3.86% zinc, 1.29% lead, 198 g/t silver from 224 metres (extension);

• Southern Nights South Zone: 22.55 metres at 5.58% zinc, 2.84% lead, 55 g/t silver from 204.1 metres (extension).

The Wagga Tank/Southern Nights project is emerging as one of the most significant zinc polymetallic discoveries in Australia in recent years.

Preliminary metallurgical test work

Preliminary metallurgical test work was recently completed on high-grade zinc-lead-silver mineralisation from Southern Nights.

Whilst the test work was preliminary in nature, results returned are encouraging with good recoveries for the key elements of zinc, lead and silver achieved, along with the production of high-grade concentrates.

Wagga Tank Project, main prospect locations

The sample was prepared by crushing and grinding for sequential base metal flotation. Standard flotation reagents and conditions were used.

Notably, metal recoveries of up to 79% for zinc into a 51% zinc in concentrate; and 71% for lead into a 50% lead in concentrate were achieved.

Next steps

Drilling is paused presently and planning has commenced towards the re-start of field activities with a focus on infill and extensional drilling at Wagga Tank and Southern Nights in anticipation of a maiden mineral resource estimate.

Additional downhole and surface geophysical surveys and metallurgical test work are also planned in support of this work.
