Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd (ASX:AB1) has been ranked #47 in PocketGamer.biz’s Top 50 Developers list of 2018.
PocketGamer.biz, published by UK-based Steel Media, is a leading B2B mobile games portal covering developments in the game industry, publishing industry reports and organising industry events.
The Top 50 Developer list was announced at a gala event on August 21, 2018 in Cologne, Germany, where leading figures in the mobile game industry gathered at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Inclusion in the List was determined by experts at PocketGamer.biz and external advisors, based on a combination of factors including the most exciting games, genuine innovation, revenue, influence, potential, company growth this year, and other criteria.
Animoca founder and director Yat Siu said: “We are immensely proud that PocketGamer has named Animoca Brands one of the world’s top mobile game companies.
“This recognition from the game industry will help us to advance our innovative strategy to leverage gamification, blockchain, and artificial intelligence as we continue to forge new paths in mobile development.”
The company recently secured $1.5 million in investments from Sun Hung Kai & Co. Limited and blockchain fitness company Lympo, which is a current strategic partner.
Animoca will utilise the capital raised to research and develop novel products based on blockchain and artificial intelligence.
Blockchain is a technology for open and distributed ledgers that record transactions safely and permanently, and which is undergoing significant development and adoption.
The global blockchain technology market totalled $0.9 billion in 2017 and is estimated to reach $14.6 billion by 2023.
