This will encompass cutting and polishing precious stones recovered from its alluvial mines, which will be mounted in jewellery created exclusively for the company.

Avi Taub, chief executive, added it will press on with trial mining next year at Zone 1 at Kishon Mid-Reach, with the aim of commercial production in 2020.

Kishon Mid-Reach is 4.5km long and approximately 150 metres wide, divided into three zones of which Zone 1 is the most advanced.

Zone 1 is believed to contain some 1.1 Mt of gemstone-bearing gravel, with bulk sampling in the first half of the year producing 9,700 carats of gemstones from 6,384 tonnes of gravel.

Next steps are the completion of the Technical Economic Evaluation (TEE) for Zone 1, applications for exploration permits elsewhere on the prospect and meeting the requirements of the recently awarded prospecting licence.

Losses for the half year to June were NIS 959,000 (£201,000).
