Chipmaker Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) topped analyst estimates in its second quarter, but its shares fell on a weak outlook.
The company reported lower-than-expected crypto mining sales and did not forecast significant improvement going forward.
“Our revenue outlook had anticipated cryptocurrency-specific products declining to approximately US$100 million, while actual crypto-specific product revenue was US$18 million. Whereas we had previously anticipated cryptocurrency to be meaningful for the year, we are now projecting no contributions going forward,” said CFO Colette Kress in the company’s press release.
Shares of Nvidia sank more than 4% to US$246.52 in Friday afternoon trading.

Capital One Financial Corp (NYSE:COF) is moving further into the blockchain space, according to a CoinDesk report.
The US bank filed a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office for a blockchain-based authentication tool back in June 2017, as per a filing released Tuesday.
The patent application details a blockchain system designed to receive, store and retrieve encrypted user authentication data, allowing users to verify their identity while only sharing a limited amount of personal information.
Back in 2016, Capital One partnered with blockchain company Gem and other tech companies to create a health care claims management system.

Golden Leaf Holdings Ltd (CSE:GLH, OTCQB:GLDFF) is making its way into the northern California cannabis market via its recent acquisition.
The Canadian cannabis company signed an agreement to acquire a combined cultivation, production and retail license.
Known as the “Sweet 16” license, the City of San Jose will issue only 16 of the combined licenses.
Golden Leaf distributes cannabis oil products under a variety of brands to the Canadian market as well as in Oregon, Nevada and California.

Callitas Health Inc (CSE:LILY, OTCQB:MPHMF) has signed an agreement of its own to bring its cannabis delivery technology to the global market.
The health and wellness company has developed CannaStrips, oral strips that dissolve on the tongue to deliver the medicinal components of cannabis, THC and CBD, without the high effect.
The Cincinnati-based company signed a consulting agreement with BFS Innovations and Pure Leaf Group to launch the technology globally.
The CannaStrips have patent-pending status from the US Patent and Trademark Office.
