CUI Global shares (NASDAQ:CUI) are popping after posting third-quarter earnings which handily beat Wall Street estimates thanks to a rebound in energy segment revenue. For the quarter ended September 2018, the Oregon-based company reported a loss of $1.5 million or $0.05 per share on revenue of $24.7 million. The loss was much smaller than the consensus estimates, which called for a loss of $0.10 per share on revenue of $24 million. CUI Global has two flagship products. The first is its GasPT platform which has a revolutionary method of almost instantly and accurately determining the quality of natural gas. Its second key innovation is its VE technology, which employs specialized sampling probes to take cleaner and more consistent gas samples.
CUI shares added 3% to hit $1.74.
Office Depot shares (NASDAQ:ODP) soared on the Russell 2000 after the office supply retailer zipped past Wall Street’s revenue and profit estimates for the third quarter and lifted its guidance. The Boca Raton, Florida-based company posted adjusted per-share earnings of $0.13 per share on revenue of $2.89 billion which just beat the consensus estimate of $0.12 per share on sales of $2.83 billion. Looking ahead, the retailer now expects sales in 2018 to come in at $11 billion, up from $10.8 billion. It also projects that sales will hold steady next year at $11.1 billion. The popular provider of business services and supplies now boasts 1,400 stores across the US.
Office Depot climbed 24.4% to $3.42.

The online crafts provider Etsy (NASDAQ:ETSY) is also on the rise after whizzing past Wall Street’s third-quarter revenue and profit estimates, boosting its yearly revenue forecast and announcing a $200 million stock buyback. In its latest quarter, the company reported profits of $0.15 per share on revenue of $150 million. The Brooklyn company now forecasts its full-year revenue will fall between $596 million to $600 million, up from its prior forecast of $587 million to $596 million. Etsy is an e-commerce site that offers handmade and vintage goods as well as more traditional factory-made items

Dean Foods (NYSE:DF), meanwhile, isn’t faring as well on the Russell after the Dallas-based food and beverage group fell short of Wall Street’s third-quarter profit projections. The company posted a loss of $0.29 per share on revenue of $1.89 billion. The earnings failed to live up to the forecasts of analysts who had project Dean would see a loss of $0.06. But the company did surpass the Street’s revenue target of $1.84bn. Dean Foods is the company behind the DairyPure and TruMoo milk brands.
Dean Brands shed 25% to $5.77.
