Small-Cap Snapshot: JinkoSolar shares fall after second-quarter earnings miss

VolitionRx shares advance on promising test accuracy for prostate cancer

Shares of JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) posted sharp losses on Monday after earnings missed estimates and revenue declined from the year-ago level.

The Chinese-based company said earnings came to US$0.41, below the consensus estimate of US$0.55. Revenue touched US$915.9mln, above expectations of US$909.5mln, but down from the US$1.17bn posted in the same time last year.

In New York, shares dropped nearly 13% to US$13.79 on volume of 1.5mln shares, nearly double the average daily volume of 771,000 shares.

Life sciences company VolitionRx Ltd's (NYSE:VNRX) stock climbed after its tests on detecting prostate cancer showed strong accuracy. The Volition panel of five assays, including the standard PSA test, identified 94% of aggressive cancers that required treatment.

The stock was up 12.5% to US$1.90 around midday.

Global health and wellness company Mannatech Inc (NASDAQ:MTEX) also advanced after it announced a share buyback program worth US$500,000. The company has been operating for more than 20 years with operations in 26 markets.

Mannatech stock was up 13.5% to US$20.55, just off the session peak of US$20.65.

Specialty services company Dycom Industries (NYSE:DY) shares tumbled after it slashed its profit and sales guidance in its fiscal year.

Dycom shares dropped 21.2% to trade at US$70.78, having traded as low as US$67.80. The stock had closed last Friday at US$89.71. Volume traded topped 4.2mln shares, dwarfing the average daily volume of 580,300 shares as investors fled the stock.
