Orion Minerals Ltd (ASX:ORN) (JSE:ORN) has completed its fourth electromagnetic (EM) survey at the Rok Optel prospect within the Namaqua-Disawell Project in South Africa.
Significantly, the survey detected the highest conductor yet measuring 9400 Siemens, three times higher than the prior peak reading.
Following the recently completed first diamond drill hole OROD001, a second diamond hole OROD002 has commenced testing this new conductor target.

Orion’s managing director and CEO Errol Smart said: “Our first intersection at Rok Optel demonstrated that geological conditions exist for accumulation of large intrusive massive sulphide, nickel-copper bodies.
“The new ROK 4 conductor, which is three times higher in conductance than the ROK 2 conductor at drill holeOROD001 is very encouraging for the potential to discover a large massive sulphide body.”
Constructing a 3D model to enable optimal drill targeting
Evaluation of the 412-metre, sulphide intersecting OROD001 continues and fieldwork is underway to augment the historical surface mapping.
All the data is being integrated to enable construction of a 3D intrusion model to allow for optimal drill targeting.
The Rok Optel intrusion remains open at its northern, southern and western margins.
