ECR Minerals PLC (LON:ECR) has secured an option over the Iceberg gold project in Western Australia.
Iceberg comprises three tenement areas covering 137 square kilometres of ground immediately along strike and adjacent to the Tropicana gold mine which host some 8mln ounces of gold.
Shares in Cadence Minerals Plc (LON:KDNC) rose on Wednesday after it flagged a statement from Auroch Minerals, in which it has a 7% stake.

Chaarat Gold Holdings Ltd (LON:CGH) has drilled about 8,000 metres of its planned 30,000-metre drilling programme at the Tulkubash project in Kyrgyzstan. Eight drill rigs are currently in operation on site.
It’s now been confirmed that gold mineralisation continues further along strike north-east of the existing one million ounce resource. The 2018 drilling campaign has extended mineralisation roughly 1,000 metres along strike beyond the limits of the current resource estimate.
Rambler Metals and Mining PLC (CVE:RAB, LON:RMM) processed a quarterly record volume of 94,589 dry metric tonnes of ore at its Ming copper project in Newfoundland and Labrador in the three months to the end of June.
Feed grade during the period averaged 1.10% copper and 0.53 grams per tonne gold. Concentrate recovery improved, and a total of 1,801 tonnes of copper was recovered to concentrate in the first half of 2018, slightly down from the 1,906 tonnes produced in the 2017 first half.
Profit for the full year will be in line with market expectations, according to Goldplat plc (LON:GDP).

Thor Mining PLC (LON:THR) has said its activities are “fully funded well into 2019” as it provided a report on its activities for the latest quarter.
Mick Billing, executive chairman of Thor, said the firm had seen “progress on all fronts” with a “robust” cash position going into the next quarter, adding that the company had “sufficient funds to carry out all planned activities well into 2019”.
Earlier in the week, the company said it had secured a research grant from the Australian government to help fund research of recovery processes at its Kapunda project in South Australia.
The miner said the A$2.8mln grant, awarded over a 30-month period, would be used to cover the costs of a demonstration of an in-situ recovery process as part of its in-situ copper and gold recovery trial at the project.

Anglesey Mining plc (LON:AYM) is looking to beef up the projected mine life of its Parys Mountain project in Wales.
A scoping study last year by consultant Micon indicated Parys Mountain could be mined at the rate of 1,000 tonnes per day.
That would produce an average annual output of 14,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate at a grade of 57%, along with 7,200 tonnes of lead concentrate and 4,000 tonnes of copper concentrate.
Arc Minerals Limited (LON:ARCM) has noted visible signs of copper and cobalt from early-stage drilling at Kabala in Zambia.
Kalaba is part of the company’s Zamsort project. Arc is drilling to produce both ores for a pilot plant and a maiden resource estimate for the deposit. Five holes have been drilled so far using two diamond drill rigs. A third rig is expected to start drilling within the next two weeks.
Lionsgold Limited (LON:LION) said the mobile banking app for its digital gold currency Goldbloc has started its live testing phase on Apple’s iOS operating system.

Kibo Mining PLC (LON:KIBO) is to raise £500,000 by placing shares with an investment fund in Ireland at 5.25p a share.

The anomalies are coincident with artisanal workings, now largely abandoned.
Elsewhere, IronRidge has carried out an additional 1,000m of drilling at Ewoyaa in Ghana after discovering extensions of lithium-bearing pegmatite not visible on the surface.
Len Kolff, IronRidge’s chief geologist said: "Drilling has identified a new pegmatite extension to the central Main Zone with an additional 400m strike length of pegmatite drilled and still open to the north, that has no obvious surface expression and occurs within a valley below recent sediment cover.
