Artemis Resources Ltd (ASX:ARV) is currently preparing to send the ASD-1 drill core from its west Pilbara deep hole drilling program to CSIRO for the Minalyzer integrated system analysis.
ASD-1 was terminated on July 3, 2018 at 1348.5 metres in a diorite-granodiorite.
The Minalyzer integrated system is unique, in that it provides high-resolution XRF analysis, coupled with high-resolution core photography and digital structural logging including fracture density analysis and specific gravity.
Artemis’ Initial interpretation shows the basement hard rock is undulating and dips north from the drill hole, with sediments filling in the topography that once would have been hills and valleys.

This means there are potential fertile sites and areas across the Fortescue Basin topography where mafic gold-rich conglomerates can form.
The Minalyzer XRF work on ASD-01 will be followed by hyperspectral scanning using the HyLogger system developed by CSIRO to determine the mineralogy of the ASD-1 core using spectroscopy.
HyLogger will characterise and identify dominant mineral species from either primary or alteration mineral systems.
Hole ASD-2 was collared on July 25, 2018
The drill hole ASD-2 was collared on July 25, 2018 and is currently at 138.9 metres as at 6 am on August 3, 2018.
ASD-2 is planned to test the base of the Fortescue Group in west Pilbara.
The drill hole is expected to provide further understanding of the geology and the nature of contacts between sedimentary rocks and felsic intrusions or basement geology.
