Black Cat Syndicate Ltd (ASX:BC8) has shared first results from a drilling program at Myhree prospect of the Bulong Gold Project in Western Australia’s Goldfields region, finding up to 36.9 g/t gold.
Reverse circulation (RC) results indicate that Myhree has potential to be a third mineralised corridor between the Queen Margaret Corridor to the east and Trump Corridor to the west.
Myhree was named after historical mines, with Black Cat reporting the mineralisation dips shallowly to the west, similar to the Queen Margaret and Trump corridors, and is open at depth and along strike to the north.
High-grade gold results
The 36.9 g/t gold highlight was found from 14 metres and extended over 1 metre at the site, about 25 kilometres from Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Other standout results include 5 metres at 4.14 g/t from 7 metres, 3 metres at 1.81 g/t from 19 metres and 3 metres at 5.61 g/t from 46 metres.
Black Cat managing director Gareth Solly said: “The high-grade results are in stark contrast to historic percussion rotary air-blast drilling completed by previous explorers and demonstrates our enhanced understanding of the opportunities at Bulong.”
Possible third corridor
Only three shallow RAB lines had been drilled between the Myhree and Boundary targets but each featured mineralisation.
Solly said: “Myhree was targeted as a result of the development and refinement of 3D geological models on numerous prospects at Bulong.
“Of particular significance is that Myhree may represent a third corridor between Queen Margaret and Trump which sits 1,400 metres along strike of Boundary and with anomalous historic drilling results in between.”
Black Cat found no significant intersections on a southern line at Myhree.
Next steps
The company plans to target its possible third corridor with further drilling over the coming months.
The Myhree drilling will test mineralisation at depth and judge the potential for it to continue north along strike to Boundary.
