St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has intersected high-grade nickel-copper sulphides in its first hole of the new program underway at the Mt Alexander project in Western Australia.
Hole MAD108 has successfully intersected electromagnetic (EM) conductor X1 at the Investigators prospect within the Mt Alexander project.
7.55 metres of sulphide mineralisation was intersected from 199.75 metres downhole including 1.27 metres of massive sulphides with XRF readings of 8% nickel and 7% copper.
New hole confirms mineralisation continues at depth
St George’s executive chairman said: “MAD108 was a big step-out of 110 metres from the high-grade intersection in MAD60 and we are pleased that the drill hole has been successful in confirming a very significant 320 metre plunge length of mineralisation on this section.
“Importantly, MAD108 confirms that high-grade mineralisation continues at depth at Investigators.
“With virtually no drilling beyond 200 metres from surface, we believe there is potential for further discoveries at Investigators with ongoing drilling.”

Drilling of the next hole MAD109 has commenced which is testing EM conductor X3.
The nickel and copper values from MAD108 are based on portable XRF analysis and are preliminary estimates only.
A conclusive determination of the nickel, copper, cobalt and PGE values of the sulphide mineralisation will be confirmed when laboratory assays are available.
