Alcidion Group wins $2.6 million contract extension with six hospital sites

Provisioning the Miya platform across six hospital sites in the Northern Territory.

Alcidion Group Ltd (ASX:ALC) has signed a $2.6 million contract extension with the Northern Territory Department of Health for the provision of its Miya platform across six hospital sites in the Northern Territory.

The contract extension, valued at $888,000 per-annum for a duration of three years, will also include two options for one-year contract extensions.

Alcidion’s platform is currently installed at the Royal Darwin Hospital, Katherine Hospital, Gove District Hospital, Tennant Creek Hospital and Alice Springs Hospital.

Furthermore, the Miya platform is currently being deployed at the Palmerston Regional Hospital in Darwin, due to open shortly.

Alcidion chief executive officer Kate Quirke said: “Our relationship with Northern Territory Department of Health dates back to 2008, and we are very pleased to continue working closely with these sites to improve patient flow, bed management and productivity.

“We also look forward to the opening of Palmerston Regional Hospital in Darwin, where the installation of our platform is well underway.”

The company recently deployed its clinical messaging technology, Smartpage, at the Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Smartpage will provide Monash with out of hours clinical task management that delivers two-way instant communications between clinical staff to increase productivity and improve patient care.

As a patient’s condition can deteriorate at any time of the day, Smartpage is helping Monash staff provide optimum patient care in the night and weekend hours, when staff levels are reduced but patient occupancy remains the same as peak operating hours.

$4.75 million ACT Health contract

Earlier this month, Alcidion signed a five-year deal worth over $4.75 million with ACT Health to deploy an Electronic Patient Journey Board solution, that fully integrates the Miya Flow, Patientrack and Smartpage software components.

Electronic Patient Journey Board solution is aimed at driving efficiency benefits and to optimise patient safety and care.

The contract includes an initial services payment to Alcidion of $629,000 for installation, customisation, implementation and training.
