Great Boulder Resources begins new drilling campaign at Mt Venn copper-nickel-cobalt asset

A maiden drill program is planned to begin later this month at the adjacent Eastern Mafic complex.

Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has the drill bit spinning at Mt Venn Copper-Nickel-Cobalt Project in Western Australia and plans initial drilling of the adjacent Eastern Mafic complex later this month.

More than 3,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling is planned at Mt Venn.

This will primarily test strike and depth extensions to mineralisation ahead of resource definition drilling.

After identifying further strong conductors at Eastern Mafic, an initial 6,500 metres of RC and diamond drilling is planned as part of a maiden drill campaign.

This program will target massive sulphide mineralisation associated with the multiple electromagnetic (EM) conductors.

It will also provide information on the formation of the Eastern Mafic and how it relates to mineralisation at Mt Venn.

MLEM identifies conductors

A recently completed ground-based moving loop EM (MLEM) survey at Eastern Mafic identified more than 40 strong conductors.

These included further strike extensions along interpreted feeder structures to the south and northwest.

Most of the conductors show a late-time response consistent with a massive sulphide source.

The main 4 kilometre-long conductor trend is along the eastern margin of a large gravity and magnetic anomaly which defines the Eastern Mafic intrusion complex.

Several new conductors have been identified within this trend and are being modelled.

New bedrock conductors have also been identified on the western margin of the intrusion.

These are interpreted to be in similar structures to those identified along the interpreted feeder structure to the south of the Eastern Mafic.

Evidence of feeder structures

Great Boulder considers this important because it provides evidence of feeder structures trending northwest towards the extensive mineralisation at Mt Venn deposit.

A heritage survey has been completed over the Eastern Mafic, covering all priority EM conductors.

Once the final EM conductor plate modelling is complete and heritage clearance received, Great Boulder will begin its maiden drill program.

A down-hole EM (DHEM) survey at Mt Venn has identified several more very strong conductor plates in excess of 100,000 Seimens.

These DHEM plates extend the strike potential of mineralisation.

Great Boulder has been able to accelerate drilling at the Mt Venn project after raising $2.5 million in a recent placement.

Mt Venn is part of the broader Yamarna project within the Eastern Goldfields.
