US stocks are seen continuing north Monday, and ahead of the New York bell, voucher giant Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) is making waves, with shares up 10.78% to US$4.83.
It comes after a report at the weekend suggested that the discount coupon and voucher specialist was on the hunt for a buyer.
Tech website Recode said the firm and bankers representing it, have been sounding out potential suitors for the past month, although no buyers have emerged as yet.
Elsewhere, Axovant Sciences Ltd (NASDAQ:AXON) shares rocketed up 17.58% in pre-market trade to US$3.01.
It comes as the group revealed it had licensed exclusive global rights to an investigational silence-and-replace gene therapy program from Benitec Biopharma for the treatment of oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy (OPMD).
It has reportedly also entered into a research collaboration for the development of five additional gene therapy products in neurological disorders.
Elsewhere, Vista Outdoor Inc (NYSE:VSTO) shares closed up 2.26% to US$16.58 on Friday.
Today, it unveiled a deal to sell its Bolle, Cebe and Serengeti eyewear brands for around US$158mln to a European private equity fund, as part of its plan to focus on its shooting, ammunition and hunting categories, as well as hydration bottles and packs and outdoor cooking products.
Also today and in the earnings sphere, Helen of Troy Ltd (NASDAQ:HELE) the houseware and supplements group, added 12.8% to US$115 before the bell as it posted quarterly results for the three months to end May, which beat analyst estimates.
The first quarter EPS (earnings per share) came in at US$1.87, which was US$0.41 better than the analyst estimate of US$1.46, while revenue for the quarter came in at US$354.7mln against the consensus estimate of US$333.75mln.
