Southend Airport owner Stobart PLC (LON:STOB) is looking at ways to diversify its shareholder base after seeing off a boardroom rebellion.
Chairman Iain Ferguson who narrowly his kept his job at Friday’s AGM said talks have already started with potential investors.

The composition of the board is also being looked at said a statement from airline, airport and energy group.
A new female non-executive director is set to be appointed while Stobart is looking for a replacement for Richard Laycock, who chose not to seek re-election as chief financial officer at the AGM.
Reports said that Ferguson also intends to stand down before next year's annual meeting.
Former chief executive Andrew Tinkler had called for Ferguson not to be re-elected on Friday but the chairman secured 51.2% of the votes.
Tinkler himself had a mixed day. He was voted back on to the board after a floor resolution was passed by shareholders, but was almost immediately sacked by Ferguson and the board.
In a statement this morning, Ferguson said: “The Board will now immediately start the important process of uniting shareholders and stakeholders and progressing our strategy to deliver further shareholder returns.
"Andrew Tinkler will not be part of this process- the Board has taken the decision again to dismiss him, following the passing of his resolution to be elected as a Director of the Company."
Stobart runs Southend Airport, an airline and a biomass energy business.
