Torian Resources Ltd (ASX:TNR) has started a new drilling campaign at its flagship Zuleika Gold Project in the Western Australian goldfields.
The infill reverse circulation program consists of 100 holes for 6,000 metres at the southeast end of Target 4 and is the second phase of Torian’s planned exploration strategy.
Initial drilling confirmed geological model
Drilling is based on results from an initial reconnaissance RAB drilling program, which sampled the oxide zone of numerous targets within the central area of Zuleika.
Initial drilling confirmed Torian’s geological model for the target as well as the continuation of the strike of the black shale line and quartz veined units.
This is similar to the geology which hosts the high-grade deposits found to the southeast of the target in the Kundana mining region.
1.3 kilometre strike length
The results demonstrated an anomalous 1.3 kilometre strike length.
The Zuleika project is along the world-class Zuleika Shear, which is the fourth largest gold producing region in Australia.
Torian’s project lies partly along strike of several major gold deposits, including Northern Star Resources Ltd’s (ASX:NST) 7 million ounce East Kundana JV and Evolution Mining Ltd’s (ASX:EVN) 1.8 million ounce Frog’s Leg and White Foil deposits.
