Tando Resources Ltd (ASX:TNO) has hit further high-grade vanadium in 12 pipes at its SPD Vanadium Project in South Africa.
The average grade of the 20 samples is 1.87% vanadium oxide, with seven returning grades that exceed 2%.
The pipes extend from the surface and are within a 3-kilometre radius of the existing SPD vanadium deposit, which has a ‘foreign resource’ of more than 500 million tonnes.

Tando managing director Bill Oliver said the latest vanadium results provided more evidence of the outstanding opportunity at SPD.
Oliver said: “In light of these latest results, we will accelerate our assessment of the potential to establish a DSO operation at SPD.
“The existing vanadium deposit is, by itself, highly attractive by global standards due to its grade and size. But these high-grade pipes could boost the viability even further.”
Proving SPD mineral resource
Tando is in advanced stages of preparation for a confirmatory and infill drilling program to convert the SPD project’s resource into a mineral resource estimate.
The company plans to test the highly prospective vanadium pipes concurrently with the drilling program.
The SPD project is in one of the world’s three significant vanadium producing regions and has the potential to be a globally significant operation based on its tonnage and grade in concentrate.
