Seeing Machines inks Guardian installation contract with US trucking fleet

The AIM-listed firm said it had signed the five-year agreement with John Christner Trucking, an Oklahoma-based refrigerated carrier group, to supply Guardian to its fleet of 850 trucks

Seeing Machines Limited (LON:SEE) has signed an agreement to supply its Guardian fatigue and distraction prevention technology to a fleet of US trucks.

The AIM-listed firm, who design operator monitoring systems powered by artificial intelligence (AI), said it had signed the five-year agreement with John Christner Trucking, an Oklahoma-based refrigerated carrier group, to supply Guardian to its fleet of 850 trucks.

The Guardian technology uses advanced computer vision technology to detect and minimise driver fatigue and distraction events and associated accidents in commercial fleet applications. It provides real-time, in-cabin alerts when fatigue or distraction is detected by the driver facing sensors, which work in all light conditions including night driving and when the driver is wearing sunglasses.

Paul Angelatos, general manager of Fleet, Rail and Off-Road at Seeing Machines, said: "We are delighted to be working with John Christner Trucking. Adoption of Guardian, our fatigue and distraction prevention technology, is building momentum worldwide and this agreement further strengthens our position as a leading provider of transport safety technology.”

The contract is the latest in a series of good news for Seeing Machines, who last month secured a programme design contract with a major Tier 1 partner, a global US-headquartered automotive original equipment manufacturer.
