Utilitywise teams up with Vodafone and Dell to launch “ground-breaking” energy management platform

The platform gives businesses and building managers unprecedented insight into how they are using energy, helping them to reduce their energy bills

Utilitywise plc (LON:UTW) has teamed up with Vodafone PLC (LON:VOD) and US computer giant Dell to launch a new Internet of Things platform which can help businesses slash their energy bills.

From a single hub, businesses can evaluate all of their energy outputs, such as lighting, heating, and ventilation, from multiple sites and buildings.

The idea is that the platform will make it easier for facility and property managers to assess where energy is being wasted and react accordingly.

Vodafone and Utilitywise will work together to take the platform to the market here in the UK.

Savings

“This is a truly ground-breaking technology that will produce significant savings for businesses,” said Utilitywise managing director Brin Sheridan.

“By giving business owners and building managers unprecedented insight into how their businesses are using energy, they can make truly-informed decisions about how to reduce their utility bills.”

Vodafone’s director of IoT, Stefano Gastaut, added: “This is a great example of how IoT is being used to disrupt and innovate.”

Dell’s Dermot O’Connell said the company was “delighted” to be venturing into the building services sector with Vodafone and Utilitywise.

Utilitywise shares surged 16.4% to 32.5p in early deals on Tuesday.
