PRE-MARKET MOVERS: Tesla revs up before the bell but Danaher goes into reverse

Also before the New York bell, Dell Technologies Inc and Constellation Brands Inc were in the frame.

Elon Musk's Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) was a stock in motion in pre-market deals, as shares accelerated nearly 7% in before-the-bell deals.

Shares in the electric car giant are at US$366.18 at the time of writing.

It comes as the company revealed it almost produced 5,000 Model 3 electric sedans in the last week of its second quarter, with the final car rolling off the assembly line on Sunday morning.

The 5,000th car reportedly finished final quality checks at the Fremont, California factory around 5 am. Musk had set a target of midnight.

Tesla built its 5,000th Model 3 sedan in about a single week, reaching a long-delayed goal as it seeks to become a mainstream provider of electric vehicles https://t.co/V0Do50C8Va

Elsewhere, Dell Technologies Inc (NYSE:DVMT) shares are up almost 13% at the time of writing, with the stock at US$95.50.

Dell, the computer maker, said it will buy out the holders of shares that track the performance of VMware Inc (NYSE: VMW) using cashing and shares.

The move ends the strategic review that Dell has been carrying out for months to simplify its structure without overburdening the balance sheet and the purchase would mark the return by Dell to the public markets.

Constellation Brands Inc (NYSE: STZ) shares lost 5.79% to US$218.87 on Friday after the company revealed weaker- than- expected earnings for its first quarter.

In extended hours, the Fortune 500 company rose 0.29% to US$219.50.

Also today, before the bell, the conglomerate manufacturer Danaher Corp (NYSE:DHR) shares shed nearly 6% to US$98.68 amid more trade tariff talk.

The new wave of tariffs being considered by President Trump could cause big business like General Motors to scale back operations and shed jobs.

Carmakers, in particular, have been caught in the middle of the trade scrap as the depend heavily on metals to build their cars, including overseas parts.
