Greatland Gold commences exploration programme at its wholly-owned Black Hills licence

A recent review of historical data highlighted the potential for high-grade, near-surface gold mineralisation at several prospects throughout the Black Hills licence including Saddle Reefs, Eastern, Rogers and Northern Granites

Shares in Greatland Gold plc (LON:GGP) headed higher in early deals as it commenced its first exploration campaign at its Black Hills licence.

The shares rose 2% to 0.76p after the company fired the starting gun on exploration work at its wholly-owned asset in the Paterson region of Western Australia.

The campaign at Black Hills includes plans for surface geochemical sampling and geological mapping and is designed to determine the areas with the greatest potential for high-grade gold mineralisation and to outline potential drill targets.

"We are very pleased to commence Greatland's first exploration campaign at Black Hills. Black Hills represents a compelling exploration opportunity for the company with the potential for several zones of high-grade, near-surface gold mineralisation,” said Gervaise Heddle, the chief executive officer of Greatland.

“If results from this exploration campaign are positive, then it is our current intention to rapidly advance exploration at Black Hills over the next six months," he added.
