US stocks are set to start lower, but in pre-market deals, entertainment giant Time Warner Inc (NYSE:TWX) was going the other way, with shares up 1.7% in pre-market deals to US$100.44.
It came after the US government agreed not to seek a stay that could delay the approved deal with fellow communications and media firm AT&T (NYSE:T).
AT&T said it could close its US$85 billion acquisition of Warner as early as tomorrow.
AT&T shares added 1.11% to stand at US$32.80.
Elsewhere, Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:ETSY) shares are up 0.36% to US$41.80 as the craft focused online group revealed it was increasing the percentage of each sale that it would take.
The company also raised its full-year guidance to reflect the higher revenue.
Also in pre-market deals, Genco Shipping and Trading Ltd (NYSE:GNK) fell 8.48% to US$16.63 on news it had kicked off a public offering of its common share, saying it would use the proceeds for future vessel acquisitions.
It has also struck an agreement for an en-bloc purchase of four bulkers.
Also, tech titan Adobe Systems Inc (NASDAQ:ADBE) saw its shares lose around 3% to US$250.30 before the bell.
Last night, the group beat Wall Street’s profit and revenue estimates for its second quarter on the back of a pick-up in sales from its digital media and creative groups. But the results failed to cheer traders.
