BlueRock Diamonds PLC (LON:BRD) has announced that work has commenced to rectify the fault in the cone crusher within the crushing circuit, which has been affecting throughput at Kareevlei Diamond Mine in South Africa.
The AIM-listed diamond mining company said when fixed, the cone crusher will allow for improved capacity as BlueRock enters its next phase of development.

The company expects the production to recommence within the next ten days.
BlueRock Diamonds, together with its independent engineering consultant, have been evaluating the crushing circuit and implementing changes to optimise mining performance as the company looks to build production and commence open pit mining at its second kimberlite pipe, KV01.
Adam Waugh, CEO of BlueRock Diamonds, said: “As reported, we have been looking to optimise performance of the crushing circuit as we look to build on our production profile at Kareevlei.”
“The downtime is obviously frustrating, but with the problem identified we can now implement a solution that we believe will have a positive impact on overall performance once rectified.”
In lunchtime trading, BlueRock’s shares fell 8% to 1.15p.
