Bloomsbury Publishing PLC (LON:BMY) author Kamila Shamsie has won the 2018 Women's Prize for Fiction for her seventh novel, Home Fire.
The publishing group said that Bloomsbury's authors made up a third of the shortlist of six for the award, with Jesmyn Ward’s novel Sing, Unburied, Sing, also nominated.

The publisher said its authors continue to gain recognition in some of the industry's leading awards. Two of the five books nominated for The Golden Man Booker Prize, a special one-off award for Man Booker Prize's 50th anniversary celebrations, were published by Bloomsbury.
Bloomsbury published the winning shortlisted works from the 1990s - The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje - and the 2010s, with the most recent winner Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders.

“We are delighted too that two of our authors have been chosen for the Golden Man Booker Prize shortlist.

For Bloomsbury to have 40% of the ‘best of the Man Booker Prize’ shortlist is very exciting, particularly as we didn't exist for the first 20 years of the 50 years of the prize,” Newton noted.
