BT Group PLC (LON:BT.) has announced that BT Sport has won the rights to broadcast a further 20 Premier League football matches for three years from the start of the 2019/20 season.
The FTSE 100-listed firm said the additional games, added to the 32 Saturday matches which BT Sport won earlier this year, to give it a total of 52 games to broadcast.

It added that, for the first time, BT Sport will show multiple mid-week Premier League matches on the same evening, something that has proven a success on UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League nights.
The group also confirmed that BT Sport has won the rights to broadcast the same 52 Premier League games in the Republic of Ireland.
BT said it “has remained financially disciplined during this process and remains in a strong position to make a return on investment through subscription, wholesale, commercial and advertising revenues.”
The firm recently agreed a multi-year deal to offer Sky’s NOW TV service, which includes Sky Sports, from early 2019.

BT Sport channels are available via BT TV, the BT Sport App, to EE customers, on the Sky platform and to Virgin Media customers.
