ClearVue Technologies signs deal to utilise its solar window technology for homes

ClearVue’s glass lamination interlayer converts solar rays into energy.

ClearVue Technologies Ltd (ASX:CPV) has entered into a deal to provide its solar window technology to Mirreco Holdings.

Under the memorandum of understanding, ClearVue will become the exclusive supplier of solar window products, initially for small-scale housing units, or micro homes, created by Mirreco.

Mirreco has developed an environmentally-friendly, carbon-negative industrial hemp product which is used as panelling material to create eco-friendly homes and other structures.

The company’s unique processing system captures and stores carbon dioxide indefinitely, potentially revolutionising current practices within the building industry.

Prototype expected in Q4 2018

Following the completion of the prototype, the companies will work together in an exclusive partnering and supply agreement.

ClearVue executive chairman Victor Rosenberg said: “The MOU between ClearVue and Mirreco is a highly encouraging signal that there is significant and immediate interest in our technology within the building and construction industry.

“ClearVue has a strong market-leading position in the construction of glass that utilises otherwise wasted energy, converting it into solar electricity – all the while appearing as a transparent window.”

ClearVue’s smart building material patented technology comprises a glass lamination interlayer that converts rays into energy, while allowing up to 70% of visible light to pass through.

The company’s target customers will primarily be from the glass manufacturing, glass framing and building and construction industries.

ClearVue also intends to promote and sell its products within the agriculture and horticulture, commercial and residential, public amenities and consumer electronics markets.
