Wall Street shares are seen starting higher after a mixed close on Tuesday.
Yesterday, the technology stock heavy Nasdaq hit a record high for the second day, at 7,637, boosted by streaming giant Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX) and online behemoth Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN).
But the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell over 123 points, to stand at 24,799.
US futures have the Dow Jones up 95 points today, and the Nasdaq ahead by 9.5 points and the S&P 500 by 4.75.
Meanwhile, in London this morning, FTSE 100 is up around 28 points at 7,715, while FTSE 250 is up over 97 at 21,148.
"Sentiment is positive in Europe as trade talks between the US and China appear to be making progress," noted David Madden, analyst at CMC Markets in London.
"Beijing has offered to buy $70 billion worth of US goods in exchange for having no further tariffs imposed on Chinese imports to the US. President Trump likes to play hard ball and it seems his tactic is working."
Later today, the Italian Chamber of Deputies will vote on the new coalition. The anti-establishment parties want to raise public spending while cutting taxes in a bid to stimulate the economy.
In Asia overnight, the Nikkei 225 in Japan added 86 points at 22,625.
In Toronto, the TSX finished around 70 points higher, at 16,122
