International expansion drives sales and profit growth at GB Group

GB Group’s international business now accounts for 34% of total group turnover

Revenues at GB Group PLC (LON:GBG) soared by more than a third last year as the data intelligence specialist’s international business continues to grow.

GB – which helps companies such as HSBC Holdings PLC (LON:HSBA) and Stripe to use data to make decisions about their customers and employees – reported a 37% jump in sales to £119.7mln in the year to March 31 (2017: £87.5mln).

Great confidence for the future

Much of that growth came from its international business which made “significant progress” in the year and now accounts for 34% of group turnover (2017: 31%). A couple of acquisitions also helped to boost the top line.

The revenue growth translated to the bottom line, with pre-tax profits up 33% to £13.4mln (2017: £10.1mln).

“This has been another strong year for GBG across all of our core products and markets,” said chief executive Chris Clark.

“Today, our customers include more than 17,000 businesses and organisations, in 79 countries and we're continuing to expand and invest in our operations in APAC, North America and EMEA.

“We believe there are exciting opportunities across all our sectors, in all our markets and that gives us great confidence for the future.”

Looking ahead, GB said the market for data intelligence solutions continues to grow and trading in the opening couple of the months has been in line with expectations.

Shares edged 0.4% higher to 522p on Tuesday morning.
