Mariana Resources, the mineral exploration company with interests primarily in Chile and Argentina, reiterated its excitement regarding the Sierra Blanca Silver-Gold Project Joint Venture with IAMGOLD Corp (TSX:IMG) in Argentina today.
Last year Mariana Resources reported multiple bonanza-grade silver veins over almost 1700 metres of strike and across widths up to 9 metres from channel and trench sampling. A 3,200 metre reverse circulation and diamond drill program is planned for later this year to test approximately 19 targets, including the Veta, Chala, Vetarron and Lucila Prospects.
Mariana also said it was encouraged by initial rock chip sampling at the Deseado Massif, where the company has quickly built up a 160,000 hectare land package prospective for precious and base metal mineralisation. The junior mineral explorer is equally encouraged by the potential of the La Borita Copper Prospect where a recent induced polarisation survey highlighted a large anomaly.
In Chile, Mariana said it was waiting on results from a ground gravity survey over the Buenaventura Project in Chile’s Iron Oxide-Copper-Gold Belt. The Buenaventura Project is in joint venture with Minotaur Exploration, an Australian junior specialising in IOGC exploration.
