Shares in tech super tanker Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) headed north on Monday ahead of the New York bell as excitement mounts about the group's annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose.
Shares added 1.8% to stand at US$190.24.
The event will feature presentations by Tim Cook and his top brass and will showcase the latest software and the next version of macOS.

It is closely watched by all Apple heads as there may be nuggets of info on what may be included in the next iteration of the iPhone- the group's biggest cash generator.
Elsewhere, Dell Technologies Inc (NYSE:DVMT) shares added over 5% to US$84.85 in pre-market deals after the computer firm unveiled fiscal first-quarter revenue that rose more than analysts had expected.
In addition, the net loss for the quarter to May 4 narrowed to US$636mln, or US$1.95 a share, from US$1.17bn, or US$2.29 a share.
Meanwhile, Palo Alto Networks Inc (NYSE:PANW) shares also added 1.20% to US$211.70 to be another gainer before the bell. The network and enterprise security group posted third quarter numbers, which saw profit and revenue beat expectations. It also provided a mixed outlook.
Not including non-recurring items, adjusted earnings per share (EPS) came to 99 cents, which was above the FactSet consensus of 96 cents.
Last but not least, to biotech, and Necktar Therapeutics (NASDAQ:NKTR) slumped over 28% to US$64.89 despite the group recently reporting encouraging preliminary data on multiple tumor types.
