In New York pre-market deals, cloud-computing specialist Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM) shares added 4.45% to US$132.53 after it posted an earnings beat in its first quarter numbers.
Revenue for the three months rose to a record US$3.01bn, compared to US$$2.4bn a year ago. The "Street" had expected revenue to come in at US$2.94bn.
Meanwhile, adjusted earnings were US$0.74 cents a share, while the company was expected to post US$46 cents a share, according to consensus estimates.
The firm also expects revenue for the second quarter of between US$3.22 and US$3.23bn against analysts forecasts of US$3.11bn.
Elsewhere, Movado Group Inc (NYSE:MOV) saw shares surge 9.83% to US$46.35 each after it unveiled first quarter numbers, which beat its own expectations.
Sales were US$127.1mln - up 22.2% on a constant dollar basis versus the same period last year.
“We are very pleased to report a strong start to the year with sales and earnings surpassing our expectations. Sales grew 22.2% in constant currency fueled by our powerful portfolio of owned and licensed brands, including the addition of Olivia Burton, which was acquired in July 2017," said chief executive Efraim Grinberg.
Elsewhere, handbag seller Michael Kors Holdings Ltd (NYSE: KORS) slid 6% to US$64.41 after its fourth quarter beat estimates.
The company said it had net income of US$44mln, or 29 cents a share, after a loss of US$26.8mln, or 17 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter.
A notable gainer pre-market was Dicks Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE:DKS), which shot up over 15% to US$35.25 after it reported first quarter EPS (earnings per share) of US$0.54.
That was considerably better than the analyst estimate of $0.45. Revenue for the quarter came in at US$1.91bn versus the consensus estimate of US$1.89bn.
