Blue Sky Uranium unveils new mining technique that bolsters uranium concentration

Blue Sky's Amarillo Grande project is set to be a supplier of uranium and vanadium across Argentina

Blue Sky Uranium Corporation (CVE:BSK), the Canadian uranium mining group, is reporting the positive news that wet scrubbing followed by wet screening on oxide material from its Ivana uranium-vanadium deposit in Argentina upgrades the concentration of metal by about 300% for uranium and 250% for vanadium.

This new technique marks a major development as the ability to concentrate uranium and vanadium could improve the mining process at the Ivana deposit, a key site in Blue Sky’s Amarillo Grande Uranium-Vanadium project in the Rio Negro Province of Argentina.

“The ability to efficiently concentrate both the uranium and vanadium represent a key strategic factor for developing a low-cost flowsheet for surficial mineralization that is widespread at Amarillo Grande,” said Nikolaos Cacos, Blue Sky’s president and chief executive.

Blue Sky miners first staked out and engaged in the preliminary exploration of the Amarillo Grande Project, a 140-kilometre-long uranium area, between 2007 to 2012. The mineralization, which has been identified at Amarillo Grande, a flat-lying and semi-arid area, has characteristics of sandstone-type and surficial type of uranium-vanadium deposits.

Blue Sky maintains the exclusive rights to over 434,000 hectares of property in two provinces in Argentina. Its Amarillo Grande project is set to be a supplier of uranium both to Argentina and the international market.

Blue Sky’s shares were flat in afternoon trade at C$0.14.
