Cassini Resources receives new data to confirm zinc target

A helicopter EM survey has identified two drill targets at the West Arunta Project.

Cassini Resources Ltd (ASX:CZI) has received new data supporting its interpretation of sedimentary zinc mineralisation at the West Arunta Project in Western Australia.

Results have been received from an airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey flown in March 2018.

Previous geological interpretation was limited to a magnetic survey, broad-spaced soil geochemistry and the very sparse geological data gathered from outcrop and drilling in 2016.

Prospective horizon not previously tested by drilling

The airborne EM survey has been able to map the stratigraphic horizons within the sedimentary basin and in particular the Dione Horizon.

The Dione Horizon is believed to be a discrete, sulphide or graphite-rich area that is possibly mineralised.

The old and new data combines now support the conceptual targets at the Janus and Mimas prospects.

Drilling of Mimas and Janus now planned

A drill program has been designed to test the Janus and Mimas prospects, consisting of 2,000 metres which will take about 2 weeks to complete.

Aboriginal heritage surveys have now been completed, paving the way for the drilling program to commence as soon as possible.

A drilling company has been engaged and is due to mobilise to the project by mid-June.

Last month, Cassini commenced a significant field program at its West Musgrave nickel-copper project in Western Australia.

Activities are part of the pre-feasibility study where joint venture partner OZ Minerals Ltd (ASX:OZL) is earning 51% by investing $19 million over 18 months.

West Musgrave is one of Australia’s largest undeveloped nickel-copper deposits.

The pre-feasibility study (PFS) commenced in November 2017 and is expected to take a maximum of 18 months to complete.
