Kosmos Energy Ltd (LON:KOS, NYSE: KOS) told investors that the Anapai-1 well, offshore Suriname, will be re-spud after drilling operations encountered bore hole stability issues.
Now, the Anapai-1A will be spudded imminently and it will thereafter take between 50 and 60 days to drill. Well results are therefore anticipated early in the third quarter.

Kosmos estimates that its net Anapai well costs thus far amounted to around US$20mln. The company has a 33.3% stake in the Chevron led offshore exploration venture (Chevron owns 50%).
In the nearby Block 42 exploration area, meanwhile, the first of three tests is being planned with exploration drilling potentially taking place in the third quarter of the year – here, Kosmos also owns 33.3% as equal partners alongside Chevron and Hess which both also have 33.3% of the project.
