The top five cryptocurrencies were mostly in the red today with only Ripple keeping its head above water.
EOS continued its downward streak for the week, falling more than 4% to US$16.93.
Bitcoin was down less than a percent to US$9,661.14.
Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum were both down than a percent as well.
Sindri Stefansson, the alleged mastermind behind a $2 million heist of Bitcoin-mining computers, escaped an Icelandic prison only to be recaptured by authorities in the Netherlands, according to a New York Times report. The 31-year-old escaped the minimum-security facility, hopping a flight to Stockholm. Oddly enough, the Prime Minister of Iceland was on the same flight, although it doesn’t appear the two met.
Riot Blockchain Inc (NASDAQ:RIOT) has been mining more cryptocurrency with the help of more than 4,000 miners. The Colorado-based company produced approximately 100 Bitcoins and 61 BCash in April. Shares were down more than 2% to US$7.48.
The North American Marijuana Index, comprised of the leading cannabis stocks in the U.S. and Canada, was on the rise.
Medical marijuana facilities are inching closer to the East Coast. Rise, one of Pennsylavania’s first medical marijuana facilities, will be opening on Saturday, according to the Sentinel. Investment group KW Ventures received one of 27 dispensary licenses available in the state, which allows for up to 3 locations to be opened.
CannaRoyalty Corp (CNSX:CRZ) shares were up more than 1% to US$4.45 after the Ottawa-based company announced its monthly revenue for its subsidiary Alta Supply. The California dispensary recorded its highest monthly revenue to date.
