Shares of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (NYSE:AU) may slipped in pre-market trade after the company said Chief Executive Officer Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan is leaving the firm.
The stock fell 2.4% to US$8.95 in pre-market trading.
Search for replacement underway
A global search for a successor to Venkatakrishnan is underway, the company said in a statement.
AngloGold aims to find a new CEO before Venkatakrishnan departs on August 30 to lead Vedanta Resources PLC, it added.
