Auris Minerals’ farm-in partner identifies multiple anomalies at Morck’s Well East project

Interpreted to be located within the Karalundi Formation which hosts the DeGrussa and Monty orebodies.

Auris Minerals Ltd’s (ASX:AUR) farm-in partner Sandfire Resources NL (ASX:SFR) has identified a number of preliminary anomalies within the Morck’s Well East JV Project in the Bryah Basin of Western Australia.

Sandfire completed the survey using helicopter-borne Versatile Time-Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM Max) geophysical system, which is ideal for locating discrete conductors.

Auris chief executive Wade Evans said: “We are very pleased that Sandfire has identified a number of preliminary anomalies from the VTEM survey which will be followed up with ground EM surveys to verify potential targets in the coming month.”

Potential ore bodies similar to DeGrussa and Monty

The survey was undertaken to identify base metal conductors similar to those of the Horseshoe Lights, DeGrussa and Monty deposits in the region.

Sandfire has identified two clusters of potentially prospective late-time electromagnetic anomalies - Southern and Northern Cluster.

Significantly, both the clusters are interpreted to be located within the Karalundi Formation, which hosts the DeGrussa and Monty VMS orebodies.

Drilling and downhole geophysics at Northern Cluster

The Northern Cluster is considered a priority target and is currently being evaluated with drilling and downhole geophysics by Sandfire.

All of the VTEM anomalies identified so far occur close to significant paleochannel features and they may represent electromagnetic responses to strongly conductive surficial materials.
