Google to launch new Gmail design, says The Verge

The ubiquitous webmail service to more closely resemble the mobile version

Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Gmail is getting a facelift.

Google has plans to redesign the web-based version of its ubiquitous email service to more closely resemble its mobile counterpart, according to an internal email obtained by The Verge.

New look to debut next month

The search giant promised a “fresh, clean look for Gmail on the web” with additions such as smart reply, email snoozing and offline support, The Verge reported.

Look for the new look to debut around Google’s I/O developer conference next month.

In early trading, Alphabet shares were up 1% to US$1,042.48.
