St George Mining hits more massive nickel-copper sulphides in latest hole

Preliminary XRF analysis shows grades of 4.75% nickel and 1.5% copper.

St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has intersected more nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation in hole MAD93 at the Strickland Prospect within the Mt Alexander Project in Western Australia.

A 9.76-metre interval of nickel-copper sulphides including massive sulphides from 66.18 metres downhole was intersected in MAD93.

St George’s executive chairman John Prineas said: “Drill hole MAD93 was completed approximately 25 metres to the north of MAD71, which intersected thick nickel-copper sulphides late last year.

“The intersection of nickel-copper sulphides in MAD93 indicates that the high-grade mineralisation is open to the north and to the west.

“Further drilling will be planned for this area where the large SAMSON EM anomaly at Stricklands remains mainly untested.”

MAD93 was targeting an electromagnetic conductor

MAD93 was completed to a depth of 101.4 metres and targeted an off-hole downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) conductor identified from MAD78.

Notably, modelling indicated that the conductor would be intersected by MAD93 at 70 metres downhole.

Sulphide mineralisation was intersected by MAD93 between 66.18m to 75.94 metres downhole.

The massive sulphide mineralisation intersected in MAD93 suggests potential for further mineralisation within the Stricklands ultramafic.

Massive sulphides of up to 4.75% nickel

Within the 9.76-metre interval, a 1.68-metre section of massive sulphides graded 4.75% nickel and 1.5% copper using an XRF gun.

Official assay results from the laboratory remain pending.

Two other holes drilled at Stricklands

Two additional drill holes were completed at Stricklands in the past week, MAD91 and MAD92.

They were designed to test for an extension of the massive sulphides intersected in previous hole MAD22.

Each of MAD91 and MAD92 intersected prospective ultramafic but logging and XRF analysis did not identify any significant nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation.

Drilling continues at Stricklands

Diamond drilling has commenced for drill hole MAD94 to test for an area to the west of MAD77.

The area is within the large SAMSON EM anomaly but has never been drilled.
