Emmerson Resources substantial shareholder boosts stake

The gold producer is set to announce new cobalt, copper projects.

Emmerson Resources Limited (ASX:ERM) substantial shareholder Noontide Investments Ltd has increased its stake in the company to 13.5% from 12.5% through on market buying.

The Sydney-based fund, which specialises in small-cap gold sector investments, has bought close to 5 million shares and now holds about 55 million shares in Emmerson.

Emmerson is already generating cash flows under a tributary agreement from its eight small gold mines, which are being ramped up to produce in series, with a second gold bar expected to be poured from Edna Beryl soon.

Drilling at Tennant Creek is ongoing, with fresh drilling at high-grade projects identified under the former JV set to commence this month.

But the real story for 2018 surrounds a cobalt-copper project that will be announced soon, and an early stage cobalt-manganese project in New South Wales.
