Silver City Minerals Ltd (ASX:SCI) has commenced 4,000 metres of drilling at the Copper Blow Project located near Broken Hill in New South Wales.
This third round of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling will test extensions to copper-gold in the North Zone and new geophysical anomalies.
The program is designed to follow-up significant copper-gold intersections encountered in previous programs with the view to defining a mineral resource.
Copper Blow is considered a new iron-oxide copper gold (IOCG) discovery
Silver City has completed two drill programs at Copper Blow.
Initial drilling returned high-grade intersections from the South Zone including 4 metres at 6.1% copper, 4.23 g/t gold and 7 metres at 3.7% copper 1.07 g/t gold.
More recent drilling of the North Zone returned a broad drill intersection of 41.2 metres at 1.3% copper and 0.42 g/t gold.

Notably, the 41.2-metre intersection indicates that copper-gold mineralisation is persistent from surface to depths of at least 200 metres.
It shows that the mineralisation is open in all directions and that the grade and thickness are increasing with depth.
Furthermore, the style of mineralisation suggests it may be amenable to extraction by open pit mining methods.
Area between the North and South Zones to be drilled
The new drill holes are designed to test:
• The sparsely drilled ground between the North and South Zones;
• The extent of mineralisation encountered in the 41.2-metre intersection hole;
• Extensions to the North Zone; and
• Geophysical anomalies CB2, CB3, CB4 and CB5.
