St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has resumed drilling at its Mt Alexander nickel-copper sulphide project near Leonora in the north-eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
St George executive chairman John Prineas said: “St George, like other mining and exploration companies in the Goldfields, has been affected by heavy rains during February.
“At Mt Alexander, ground conditions have improved and we are very pleased to announce that drilling has finally begun.”
Testing for further mineralisation at the Stricklands Prospect
St George has planned 2,510 metres of drilling, primarily focused on testing for further nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation at the Stricklands Prospect.
A drill hole completed last year at Stricklands returned the best intersection to date at the Mt Alexander Project.

The drilling will also include first-ever testing of deep electromagnetic targets at the Investigators Prospect.
Prineas said: “We have a number of outstanding nickel-copper sulphide targets to drill in this program and we are excited to be drilling again.”
