BT Group PLC (LON:BT.A) has announced the appointment of Michael Sherman to the newly-created role of chief strategy and transformation officer, reporting directly to the telecom giant’s chief executive Gavin Patterson.
In a statement, the FTSE 100-listed firm said Sherman will work closely with Patterson, the board and BT’s customer-facing units to develop and drive the company’s strategy, customer experience and transformation programmes.

BT added that Sherman will join the group on 1 May 2018 from management consulting and business strategy firm Boston Consulting Group, where he has spent the last 11 years leading its Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice in the United States.
The move is Patterson’s latest hire to his executive committee, with the former boss of water regulator Ofwat, Cathryn Ross having joined as BT’s Director of Regulatory Affairs in January and Sabine Chalmers, a former Anheuser-Busch InBev executive, to join as General Counsel in April 2018.
