Salesforce advances as fourth quarter impresses

“We had an outstanding quarter of growth that propelled Salesforce over the $10 billion revenue milestone for the year,” said Marc Benioff, Salesforce chief executive

Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM) stock advanced on Thursday after the software group’s fourth quarter impressed.

Earnings for the three months were reported at 35 US cents per share, which was better than market consensus forecast of 33 US cents.

Quarterly revenue amounted to US$2.85bn, ahead of the US$2.81bn forecast.

For the full year, the company earned US$1.35 per share (excluding certain items) on US$10.48bn of revenue, which was 25% more than in the preceding year.

“We had an outstanding quarter of growth that propelled Salesforce over the $10 billion revenue milestone for the year,” said Marc Benioff, Salesforce chief executive.

“No other enterprise software company has achieved this scale faster than Salesforce.

“Our relentless focus on customer success continues to strengthen our position as the global leader in CRM.”

On Wall Street, Salesforce stock climbed 2.62% to trade at US$119.32.
