HemoGenyx Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON:HEMO) shares leapt 120% higher on Monday after it confirmed an earlier enigmatic tweet from the blood cancer specialist's Twitter account this morning by saying it is "excited" by first data results from its lead product for the treatment of leukaemia. All the tweet had said was “A serious breakthrough in the lab”, but it sent the AIM-listed firm's shares soaring first thing, prompting the group to release a regulatory news statement.
Summit Therapeutics PLC (LON:SUMM) saw its shares jump nearly 9% on Monday after the group revealed that its clinical trial for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy provided "further positive findings" for its utrophin modulator ezutromid. In a statement, the AIM-listed biotech firm said initial 24-week results from the 48-week phase II PhaseOut DMD clinical trial showed a "statistically significant decrease" in muscle inflammation.
Savannah Resources Plc (LON:SAV) chief executive David Archer said the 200% increase in the resource at Mina do Barroso marked it out as one of Europe's most promising lithium projects.
